Toastmasters' elite
Congratulations to members
of the Concord Breakfast
Toastmasters Club 2056 who
were recently honored by the
district.
"Every year, District 57
Toastmasters presents several
special acknowledgments at
the end of its year (in Septem-
ber)," said Lee Woods, youth
leadership and communications
coordinator, "including Toast-
master of the Year.
"District 57 is a huge area
covering up to the Oregon bor-
der, down to Fremont, and the
western part of California along
the coast."
Named Toastmaster of the
Year was Orval Mosby, club
president, who received the
special acknowledgment from
Tevis Thompson, former Dis-
trict 57 governor.
Four club members were
named Distinguished Toast-
master awardees, the organiza-
tion's most prestigious designa-
tion. Those receiving the award
were Mosby, Woods, Joe Silva
and Ken Smith.
It was an evening for congrat-
ulations all around, as another
of the club members received an
award in a different area, said
Woods. Grace Ellis, who serves
as elected member of the Mt. Di-
ablo Health Care District board,
was elected by the Association
of California Health Care Dis-
tricts to its board.
